Play your favorite songs in a Rock Band for an audience of your family and friends !! That is what happens at the grand finale performance of the Funky Munky Music School Rock Band Workshops.

This band workshop is designed for beginners ages 9 to 13. You will learn and perform your favorite songs with the leadership of an instructor who has professional experience in both instruction and live performance.

The workshop consists of 9 weeks of group rehearsals of 90 minutes each week. You bring your instrument. We provide the amps, drum set, and PA gear. At least one member is encouraged to sing harmonies.

The workshop will start with an introduction to proper equipment setup and getting the best sound out of your instrument, then move on to song selection and choosing a band name. Most rehearsals will focus on learning the nuances of performing as a group, rather than individuals. Also covered in later rehearsals will be an introduction to PA/monitor use, performance aspects, and stage presence.

The band will have the opportunity for a field trip to an Open Jam. Week 9 will be the last rehearsal preparing for a Final Performance. A DVD of the Final Performance will be provided for each member.
